MacPhail Center for Music
The MacPhail Center for Music is one of the oldest cultural institutions in Minneapolis and among the most respected music organizations in the nation. MacPhail is one of only a handful of community music schools with a comprehensive offering of music studies taught by experienced teaching artists for students of all ages, abilities, and socio-economic means.
The MacPhail Center for Music embraces their unique and innovative approach to music education with their new state of the art facility. The 56,000 square foot building houses a formal performance hall, 58 instruction studios, group classrooms, music therapy labs, and early childhood education classrooms, all having superior acoustics, state-of-the-art technology, and designed with great flexibility to accommodate varied teaching and performance styles. In addition to the formal teaching spaces, the new MacPhail building contains school offices, a café, an outdoor performance courtyard, and a large central lobby that doubles as a secondary performance space.
