This restaurant is the third phase of the Bookmen Development, which also includes the Bookmen Lofts and Bookmen Stacks. The restaurant building is conceived as a contemporary compliment to the warehouse district. Its design evokes the materials and massing of the neighboring buildings, with brick masses, exposed structure, and large open volumes. Like the Stacks Building, it will have a large glass facade facing the Downtown skyline, and zinc cladding along the alley. The restaurant is designed to sit within a landscaped urban garden. The garden to the west will be open to the residents of both the Lofts and the Stacks, and is a beautiful space designed to highlight both of the residential buildings, while providing an elegant buffer to the activity of the restaurant. The garden to the east will be used by the patrons of the restaurant, and will be a wonderful and unique dining and entertaining space. Both garden spaces are conceived as meaningful visual contributions to the Warehouse District.
